Teacher Tip Thursday!

On this terrific Thursday, The Teaching Tribune is bringing you teacher tips and quotes!

I always, always, always make it a point to greet each one of my students every day! No matter what mood I might be in or whatever I may be doing... I always stop to say hello to whoever walks in that door! Sometimes my little kiddos can be sneaky and I don't even see them come in, so they always get the greeting of "Hey!! I didn't even see you come in! You're so quiet!" - always makes them grin like they put one over on me!

Another one of my favorite things to say is "I'm so glad you're here today!" I want my students to feel like I'm happy to see them and glad they are coming to school. I also let them know we've missed them if they've been out. It just makes me sad to think that some kids may not get a good morning said to them at home so I make sure to start their school day out right!

Feel free to pin, post, instagram my image to spread the greeting love!
(And if you're not following me on Instagram, you should! I just joined!!)

  1. Great sentiments! I always say "I'm so glad you guys came back!" I also make it a point to greet them at the door. A quick hug or pat on the back goes a long way! Thanks for sharing this tip!

  2. I love this! I also try to comment on something they are wearing or their hairdo. Their little faces light up when you compliment them :)

  4. So very true! I also make a point of saying... I am so glad your back and we missed you, when they have been absent. It is the little things that sometimes mean the most. I agree with you and Alison, I am also a big hugger...lol.

  5. I totally agree with the sentiments expressed. It's sad to think that for some children our voices are the only ones they hear that encourage them and value them so it is so important to make sure we do - everyday! Special Teaching at Pempi's Palace
