My First Five for Friday!

It's a wonderful Friday ... no school and my first Five for Friday linkup with Doodle Bugs Teaching!

Next week our 3-5th graders start their FCAT state testing. So, this week we had a spirit week to get them pumped up! Even my Kinders got to participate! On Thursday we had a pep rally and dressed like rockstars since our school theme is "Rock n Roll" this year.

I have some pretty cute rockers!!

Even with our fun spirit days (Tuesday was "block out shades of meaning with your sunglasses"), we did manage to get some learning done! Learning with Mrs. Leeby has a fantastic pack for The Very Hungry Caterpillar and other Eric Carle stories. Since The Very Hungry Caterpillar is one of my all time favs we just had to include some of her activities throughout the week.

Check out Mrs. Leeby's full pack here!

We've been working hard on our sight words so I took advantage of the 4-day week to review, review, review! We had loads of fun making sight words rings from Whimsy Workshop Teaching! Although I kept finding rings all over the floor, we'll definitely do this again because it's such an exciting way to practice our words!

Click here to see the sight word rings pack.

Mrs. Leeby and her amazing creativity was getting some love this week in our class. Our newest and most favorite math center has got to be part of her Snap Block Math pack! My kiddos were so excited to see these cards and then, oh my...create their own patterns with my blocks when they finished! Playing and learning all mixed together!

It's true what they say, April showers ...(hopefully bring May flowers)... we've been getting some rain action here in Florida. I guess that's why my April Showers Word Work Activities are appropriate for this time of year! We've been reviewing digraphs for the last couple of weeks and the kids really rocked this digraph sorting and recording activity!

You can find the full pack in my store by clicking on the link above or here.

So happy for no school today! It's time to put work to the side and enjoy a rainy, overcast day at the movies with my hubby (finally seeing Divergent!!) I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Don't forget to check out my store on Sunday for a special Easter Sunday sale!

20% off Sunday AND Monday at A is for Apples!

It's my favorite time of year...caterpillars and butterflies! I love when the caterpillars arrive and all the kids "ooh" and "ahh" over the little creatures!

I created a set of mini posters and printables about the butterfly life cycle to add to our unit! I thought all of you butterfly lovers out there might want to have these posters for your very own so here's my Fabulous Freebie on the 15th! Enjoy!

Hello Blogging World!

Well hello there blogging world!

So, what do you think everyone? Courtney over at Blogs Fit for a Queen is AMAZING! I had no idea what I wanted my blog to look like, but Courtney figured it out! Seriously, if you don't have a blog and you want one, contact Courtney!!

Now that I have this wonderful blog, I have to use it! I promise that I will do my best to stay updated but I'm really a Facebook junkie so if you're not following me over really should! I love doing flash freebies! What are you waiting for? Click here!

If you're already following me over on Facebook then you know I have a giveaway going on! The main reason for this giveaway is to help get my Kindle Fire DonorsChoose project funded before the school year ends! All you have to do is donate 1 DOLLAR!! There will be 3 winners- $10 to spend in my store, $5 to spend in my store, and a product of your choice! Just enter using the Rafflecopter below.

I know we all have our classrooms and families that we spend money on, but my students are going to leave Kindergarten not knowing what "technology" really is! We have chalkboards and computers that Bill Gates would be embarrassed to touch (and my county's evaluation system works off the Gates Grant...hmmm...)

So I'm begging you, please please help out my students! To add a little something extra to the mix, I will email a little freebie to everyone who donates if my project gets funded by the end of this giveaway! (Leave a comment here with your email, click on my cute little email button on the right side of this blog and send me your email, or message me your email on Facebook!)

Thank you!
